Founder & President — Sam Mathew

Sam Mathew is the Founder and President of Aker Business, Inc. With a career spanning multiple industries—including automotive, chemicals, food supply, and IT systems—Sam brings a unique multi-sector leadership perspective to the company’s operator–investor model.

Over the past seven years, Sam has launched and invested in several ventures, including:

  • Tygrus – a sustainable chemical manufacturing company
  • Anu Sushi – a multi-state wholesale sushi supplier
  • Jeva Packaging – sustainable packaging solutions for diverse industries

Prior to founding Aker, Sam served in leadership roles within global automotive companies, including Borg Warner and Schaeffler Group, where he oversaw operations across ASEAN and India. His responsibilities spanned P&L ownership, supply chain management, sales operations, and executive oversight of multi-country teams. Sam holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He leads Aker Business with a focus on operational excellence, disciplined integration, and building long-term enterprise value.

President — Michael Deacon

Michael Deacon serves as President of IT Hardware Plus, LLC and Elarasys Worldwide, LLC, two of Aker Business’s portfolio companies. He brings decades of experience in IT hardware, enterprise infrastructure, system integration, managed services, and lifecycle management.

Under his leadership, both companies have established themselves as trusted partners for organizations seeking modern, scalable, and secure technology solutions.

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Michael brings the discipline, resilience, and leadership mindset honed during his military service into every aspect of his executive work. He holds a degree from Northern Illinois University, where he further strengthened his foundation in business and technology.
